A Message from Outgoing President Dian Edwards

Thanks to the mighty members of the Austin North Metro Passport Rotary Club for all your support in keeping our club and projects alive during this 2022-23 Rotary Year. It has been my pleasure to serve as your club president this year and know that incoming President Sarah Carriker will have a great year ahead.

Recounted below are some of the significant projects and events that our ANMP Rotary Club supported over the past year:

  • Early Act First Knight from September through May at Harris Elementary School
  • PolioPlus (Pints and Pies for Polio in October)
  • Table of Grace Christmas Packages for Foster Kids
  • Training at Lone Star PETS; Foundation Grant Training; Membership and Public Image Seminars; District Foundation Gala; and, District Team Training
  • We reached nine of the Rotary Club Central goals set out at the beginning of the year. We exceeded our giving and fundraising for Polio Plus by $685 and came in only $52 short of our $24,000 Annual Fund contribution target.
  • We established a ClubRunner account and updated our website.
  • We developed “rack cards” for promotion of our club.
  • The Little Library and Bench construction is complete and ready for installation at the Table of Grace 365 location. (Previous site at Harris Elementary delayed due to school reconstruction project ahead.)
  • We held socials at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Cinco de Mayo.
  • We supported the 2022 RYLA with a dinner service and contributed funds to support a RYLA camper in 2023.

Looking forward to another year of sharing our service hearts with our community and Rotary organization next year!

Updates from Incoming President Sarah Carriker

Starting in August:
  • We will continue with our Zoom board meetings on the first Mondays at 7:00pm.
  • On the second Mondays at 7:00pm, I would like to propose that we conduct recurring, in-person service projects at Table of Grace instead of a sit-down meeting.
    • Reasons:
      • Offering a consistent, recurring opportunity for service could be appealing to current and future members.
      • We are down to 7 members - all of whom are on the board - showing up for regular meetings and there is no sense in having the same meeting twice (board/full).
      • We can measure our participation levels and come up with some indicators of the viability of the club.

Welcome to the New Rotary Year!

RI President-elect R. Gordon R. McInally calls for Rotary to create hope in the world by working for peace and mental wellbeing. He urges members to engage in tough conversations and earn the trust that’s necessary to realize these values.
