The Rotary Club of Round Rock Sunrise is proud to celebrate member Cheryl Hill on receiving her first Paul Harris Fellow recognition, an important milestone in Rotary service and philanthropy.

The Paul Harris Fellow is one of the most meaningful honors in Rotary International. It recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, totaling $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. These contributions support Rotary’s Annual Fund, which powers humanitarian projects, scholarships, leadership development programs, and global initiatives that improve communities around the world.

Cheryl achieved this milestone through a personal contribution combined with matching support from the district, demonstrating her commitment to Rotary’s mission of service above self. Contributions to the Annual Fund are especially impactful because they return to districts after a few years as grant funding, helping local clubs carry out service projects in their own communities while also supporting global humanitarian work.

For Cheryl, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow recognition carries special personal meaning. Service and community involvement have long been part of her family’s values. Her mother, Sadie Stanley, is a past president of the Rotary Club of Seguin Sunrise, and she helped instill in Cheryl a lifelong belief in giving back and supporting others.

“Seeing my mom’s dedication to Rotary and to service in her community shaped how I view the world,” Cheryl shared. “Being recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow means a great deal to me and my family. It represents not only a commitment to Rotary’s mission, but also the values I was raised with—service, generosity, and helping create opportunities for others.”

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition reflects the power of individual generosity combined with Rotary’s global network. Through contributions like Cheryl’s, The Rotary Foundation continues to support life-changing initiatives—from clean water projects and education programs to disease prevention and disaster relief.

The Round Rock Sunrise Rotary Club congratulates Cheryl on this meaningful milestone and thanks her for continuing the tradition of service that inspires both her club and community.
