When families in Laos use their TerraClear ceramic filter for the first time and see clear water flowing into their cup, it is nothing short of life-changing. No longer do children have to risk illness by drinking from muddy rivers, nor do mothers have to spend hours boiling water over smoky fires. With a simple filter and hygiene training, health, time, and opportunity are restored.
Rotary has been a key partner in this transformation. Seven Rotary clubs across Texas have already joined the effort, each contributing to bring safe water to some of the poorest families in Southeast Asia. TerraClear has presented to more than 35 Rotary clubs nationwide, igniting partnerships and action that directly align with Rotary’s global area of focus: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).
For our club members, Dawn’s presentation was a powerful reminder of how Rotary’s network connects local service with global impact. Together, Rotary and TerraClear are helping thousands of families in Laos drink safe water every day—a living example of Rotary’s mission to create lasting change across the world.
